In the first place, the scanner would be useful to determine if there is any lack of communication with the Bsi, although the classic failure of the latter is more eloquent and Check light and engine management failures would already be observed. The scanner could give codes such as U 1000 or U 1118, for example, orienting the problem towards com 2000 which, on the other hand, is a classic failure of multiplexed Peugeot. This component is repaired in workshops qualified for this purpose.
Generally, the failure of the Bsi is found more by false contacts in its pins or sulphation that cause moisture or probable entry of water, although in many workshops they dismiss this situation and proceed to its replacement causing unnecessary costs.
