Good evening everyone from Colombia. I would appreciate the colleagues who can help me. I was approved a project for the installation of 15 cameras 09 bullet type cameras ref DS2CE16H1TIT37 and 07 dome cameras type Ref DS2CE56H1TITXZ and the DVR Ref DS7216HUHIK2. The theme or question is as follows: two of the cameras are going to be installed 400 meters away from the point of the DVR. The type of cable that I proposed is utp 6E 100% Copper and comes from 305 meters, Question: at how much maximum distance can the wiring of the installation of the cameras be made, if there is a wiring splice, what type of splice is It does a type of amplifier, or just the strikeout and the normal joint. Me and installed cameras but not as far-reaching, Second question: could I install these two cameras through a link? I have point of view. what kind of radios would you recommend, what cameras would you recommend? thank you.

hello ... according to my experience, every link in utp cable allows us to guarantee optimum performance up to a maximum distance of 100 meters, henceforth it does not mean that it does not work but at low risk and higher failure rate. I once transmitted video on utp cat 6 cable at a distance of 305 meters and the decrease in transmission quality is very evident, so I have heard that the best for these distances is optical fiber, but for the much higher cost the most optional is mount relay points so that in this way achieve a little more efficiency in the utp channel and I recommend utp 6A category I have worked with him and he is the best.

I think there is a confusion with ip. These devices are analog ... you only need a couple of utp cables for each camera. For those distances you will need active balunes. In this the category of the cable does not matter, if the quality is 100% copper. sds

Exactly! fer_533 is correct, first make sure you use a UTP cable for outdoor use and of very good quality, second it is that there is no tension cable near the cable, third place the source as close as possible to the camera, fourth use two pairs x camera to get the lowest possible signal drop and last x you have to use active baluns, these ensure that the signal is the best in that number of meters.
