Values in an Amperometric Clamp

Good morning everyone! I bought a DC-266 Chinese amperometric clamp, I place the selector in ACA 200 for example to measure the amperage of a conductor, but without placing anything it marks me a minimum consumption of 00.1 or up to 00.4. Without any cable in the clamp! Is a malfunction or a margin of error normal in these economic instruments? Thank you!!

It is what is called "not zero", it would have to be, but it does not, some have a "Null" or "Zero" button to eliminate this residual. The clamp meters, however, when measuring amps have little precision, just move the cable inside the jaw so that the reading varies. You don't have to worry about those decimals.

Hello friend, it is completely normal, in multimeters it also happens, if you have the manual it will tell you with the precision that it measures in each scale.

Hello friend, it's normal for everyone to do it. It is a small margin of error.

Hi It is common in low quality instruments, but it should not be normal ... the accuracy or resolution of the instrument, has nothing to do with this ... are defects that the manufacturer is not interested in improving because it is an instrument of very low cost and so they want to keep it Cheers
