I cannot disassemble Philips HP 8310 iron

Good afternoon, I need to open the Philips HP 8310 iron to see the status of the cable, because when it is used it turns off at times as if it were making a bad connection. I have removed the two plastic side trims, and usually under these there is a screw, because in this model there is not, there is a metal pin that crosses from side to side, on one side it has a kind of ring from which you can not to throw and in the other one it is seen that the metallic piece is bigger than the hole so I understand that it is here where we have to throw but first we will have to take out that ring and I do not know how. I attach photos to see if anyone can help me. Thanks in advance

With a flat screwdriver, you enter it in one of the 2 spaces and turn it to throw this insurance, to place it you use pincers, luck and comments.

Thanks, I managed to get it out as you indicate. Now another problem arises, none of the internal faces (where the thermal plates are) are disassembled, I only found a screw that I already removed, there are some small round trims that I can not lift to see if there are screws underneath ...
I added a new image where you see the round trims that I mentioned.

Simple .... turn the ring so that it is in a position where you can disassemble it. How? Take a screwdriver with a thin blade and put it just a little through one of the two spaces of the washer you point and turn it on any sense ... and pull it ... that washer is to hold the pin.

Hello, I have the same with the same problem, what I saw is in the part where it is locked so that it is closed. It has like a pacifier that makes false contact. I still couldn't get it to work well.
