Water pumps

Installation of pressurizing pump before or after hot water tank

Good. I have to increase the hot water pressure of my house, which is 2 floors. The water tank is 1 meter from the roof, on the first floor I have the hot water tank (says it supports a pressure pump). The point is that on the top floor, being at the same level as the hot water tank (I imagine), the hot water comes out with little pressure. Then I had thought about putting a pressure pump at the outlet of the hot water tank. But I read in the specifications of the pump that the temp. of water must be less than 50 ° C. To me, it sounds more logical to install the pump at the exit of the hot water tank, since it fills up well because the tank is 4 meters high from the hot water tank. Does anyone know how these facilities are done normally? At the exit or at the entrance? And what pressure should I add to the current one? keep in mind that the hot water tank and bathrooms are at the same level. Thanks for any suggestions. Regards,

And you can't calibrate the water temperature so that it goes below 50 ° C?

Yes, I thought the hot water tank was getting hotter, but I realize not. The hot water tank says that the maximum is 70ºC and I always have it in less than half, so it must be less than 50ºC, anyway I can measure it with a tester that I have with thermocouple. I'm going to measure it tonight to see how much it goes out and if it's less than 50ºC, I put it on the exit directly!

Actually, it will work in both ways, yes, if you put it before you "inflate" the thermos and the pipe, if you put it later, it is only the pipe - risks? there are always risks - that the thermos or the pipe, do not hold on, but that would be because they were pedroros and they would break sooner or later - it sounds to me that the plumber was pedorro, if it was well done, it shouldn't need anything ,, but that's it, did you consider the costs ?? - is it not cheaper and less risky to raise the water tank ?? In the future, zero maintenance-In case you just put the pump, the pressure should be ,, the minimum possible ,, I said MINIMUM,

Hi Leon, thanks for the reply.
Look, I don't know who did the installation, I'm there recently. I really don't know what to put. My idea, not to harm the hot water tank (although it says it is suitable for pressure pumps) is to put the pump in the outlet. Putting the pump in the outlet is relatively easy (connect it, at least) and I could do that. The low hot water pressure seems to me to be because the hot water tank is at the same level. That is, in the bathrooms on the top floor (where the hot water tank is) there is less pressure in the hot water. Cold water comes out well.

According to lei, there should be 2 meters between the water outlet (shower) and the tank floor. This I think is not fulfilled and hence the low pressure should be. What I do not understand is that if the water heater does not reduce the pressure, why does the cold water come out well? I don't know whether to put the pump from the tank manifold or put it directly into the hot water outlet of the hot water tank. I understand that the Rowa pump works with a maximum of 50ºC, and I don't think there is a problem because the hot water tank is always below half in temperature. What do you recommend me?

I planned to put the Rowa SFL 14, which is 14 mca. Is that a lot?

Hi Pablo, so that the shower reaches a pressure of 1 to 2 meters of water column, with a flow equal to the flow of the shower, enough and enough for the shower to work well. luck

Do you want to know how much is 14 mca? That pump lifts 14 meters, water column, a barbarity, you need a maximum of 2 mca - most likely you have a blockage somewhere in the hot water pipe - did you check the connections of entrance and exit to the thermos ?? - out there, they put wrong a couple of turns of teflon covering ,, the holes and it complicates everything-- in the case of not being so- I insist ,, it counts the costs-it can be cheaper, lift the tank

Hi. Except that the pump is for hot water, do not use it at the outlet of the thermos. They are exclusively for cold water, the maximum temperature would be like to do it occasionally with water in a pipe that is in the sun and is very hot but as I said, except that the pump is manufactured for hot water, you must place it at the entrance of the thermos or at the base of the tank. Place it at the exit of the tank so you will have the same pressure in the hot and cold water. regards
