I tell you my experience. For PS2, when the laser flex is damaged, the laser stops working, does not read the discs or fails. I recommend that you do not buy it, and if you still have no choice, I would recommend you check if you can try it and return if it does not work.
I have no experience with that model, I do not know if you can replace the flex with the one that has the laser depleted of your console, but keep in mind that many of the problems of the laser are due to the flex, the rest is lens wear.
