Hi experts. It turns out that my windshield wiper motor didn't work well. I took it out and it was covered like a grease or oil. I cleaned it with a rag and it started working a little. The issue is that it is extremely dirty yet, and I don't know how to clean it. Go picture: Consultation: how is this type of electric motors cleaned? With oil? soap? wet rag? Could you help me? Thank you very much in advance.

Hello friend, from my experience I clean with gasoline and blow torch because woe and blow with enough air.
And it has to dry the moisture well to have optimal performance.
You can dry with heat pump giving it a slight temperature.
Other products I do not recommend because they can damage the enamel of the wires.
Regards .

When you tell me that they can damage the enamel of the wires, do you mean wash the engine inside? Should I open it and clean it inside the motor in its windings or whatever is there? Thanks for your response in advance.

Hello, if I say that to clean inside and outside with gasoline.
You determine if it is necessary to open and clean inside.

You can clean it with water and detergent and let it dry very well for a day in the sun, or with diesel, gasoline, or buy a spray for that. What you have to see are the bushings that have to be greased and look at the brushes as they are. The mechanism should also put new grease. Never wash it with any type of acids because it can attack the winding varnish.

Hello, thanks for the answer. With diesel how would it be? I have at home. Do I use a rag? I sink it inside a jar with diesel? I leave it also in the sun? Thanks in advance.

You dip it in a drum and hit it with a brush, do not rub the winding with anything that could harm it, copper collectors can be cleaned with alcohol if they are very black, then rinse it well and let it dry very well. when there is sun and air is running.

When you say "do not rub the winding" do you mean that I must submerge the disassembled motor? Thanks in advance and your advice

Only if you know how to do it and then reassemble it. It can be cleaned inside and that's what I meant, since you say that sometimes it doesn't work, and it could be worn brushes. If the engine works and the problem is the control then do not touch it or there will be, it can be cleaned with a kitchen degreaser or with gasoline and a brush on the outside. You have to determine if the fault is the engine or the controls of the car ..

Look, I don't know what the commercial product is called in your country, to avoid problems let me tell you that here in Mexico they sell a spray that is used to clean the electrical circuits of the PCs and clean all types of electrical circuit circuit without problem, I have used for the same thing you need, which is to clean an automotive windshield wiper motor without opening it and does not damage the winding varnish. As it is likely that the trade name is another better look for it as " Isopropyl Alcohol " very well clean the internal dirt especially if it is fat and volatilizes very quickly and with which you do it inside a bucket or bucket There you collect everything I had inside the dirt. Maybe the intermittent operation is due to the fact that the brushes have wear or it is probably a bad contact due to the dirt, because you do not try to clean it with this product first and then see if it improves, I hope the suggestion will help me I have resolved the malfunction of 3 of those not very new car engines and it worked very well for me
