14-V-new-alternator voltage regulator de-126000-1630-126000 -3480-for-TOYOTA-for-alternator-OEM.jpg [112.64kb] , I have a question and I would like you to help me I have a toyota RAV 4 alternator with 126000 regulator, I would like to try it out of the car the card of the regulator has three sockets, S, Ig and S, as I connect them to test the alternator outside the car ? How can I connect the cables to test it outside and twist the alternator with a motor or a drill

HELLO FRIEND, I HAPPEN WHAT THE LETTERS MEAN AND YOU CAN ORIENT IG = IGNITION L = PILOT LIGHT S = SIGNAL BUT I TELL YOU A LITTLE DISCLAIMER OF TESTING OUT, IT WOULD HAVE TO BE CONNECTED TO A BATTERY AND HAVE AMPERIMETER OR VOLTIMETER. REGARDS .

More or less I already knew the meaning of the lyrics, but anyway thanks, it is not so crazy to try it out and spin it with a rope, with a drill or with an engine, about that there are many videos on youtube, but what is not how to put the cables, if I have a battery, that I can put the positive to the load terminal of the alternate and the negative to ground, now how do I connect the pilot lamp that should go out when the alternate starts to generate current? And how do I connect ig and yes? That's my big question

I test the alternators in the following way: My walrus is connected to the negative of a battery, fixed the alternator to the walrus, at the positive output (the thick screw) I grab the test lamp, (I have it mounted on a metal clamp) and the other end, that is the cable I put it to ground in the walrus, I give positive to the terminal "Ig" and with a rope or cable wound in a few turns in the pulley of the alternator, pull hard, if the lamp turns on full, sure it charges well (the lamp that is at least watts), if when you pull it becomes hard that does not allow you to throw, there are problems of diodes or stator to ground, if you do not oppose any resistance, there is no field , rotor or regulator problem or simply coals.

I understand more or less, I can do that, but I still have doubts, to do that test I don't have to put anything in the regulator's connector?
That of the lamp, I thought it was around, that is, when the lamp is connected, it is on and when it starts to generate current, the alternating is off,
According to what you tell me, if I understood correctly,
From the L connector of the regulator I connect a ground lamp and feed with the positive the ignition connector And I don't put anything in the S connector of the regulator?
When supplying Ig with the positive, the lamp placed from L of the regulator to ground is off

No, the lamp goes to the positive output of the alternator and the other end of it to ground, the regulator only goes positive to the "Ig" terminal. In this test, at that moment the lamp remains off, and turns on when you turn it alternator, if it is charging. Do not confuse with the pilot light, which is what turns it off in the video, it is the light you have on the board.

Good Morning. It would be best to try it as it was supposed to be connected in the car (and I disagree with friend Hugodesalta since many regulators if you do not feed the regulator circuit will not send). You need: 01- Where to Hold 02 - A Battery that Powers the Regulator 03 - A Voltimetro 04 - Test Lamp (Bulb of More or Less 25w) 05 - A Mechanism That Spins The Pulley (that's in your wits) CONNECTION -Battery negative: to the alternator mass -Positive Battery: to the thicker screw of the Alternator (possibly have a B + symbols) -Voltimetro: you connect it to positive too -Test Lamp: One tip is connected to the terminal (L) of the regulator and the other to a positive battery. It is the one that will simulate the light of the indicator board of good functioning - Regulator IG terminal: You connect a positive battery too PROOF When connecting everything you should mark 12 volts on the voltmeter which is the base voltage of the battery and the terminal light (L) should remain on. When turning the Pulley with good revolution, the voltmeter voltage should rise between 13.5 as a minimum voltage to 14.5 as a maximum voltage without much variation and turn off the dashboard light that indicates good operation of the alternator. That is the ideal test of the Alternator any doubt or if you do not understand something let me know (greetings)

Thank you
This is the best solution I've seen
I don't have to connect S?
Just Ig that I put the positive and the lamp?
I'll try and then I'll talk

(S) It is Sense that it is the voltage sensor of the regulator thing that is not necessary to test. Only with (IG) that it feeds the regulator circuit and (L) which is the operating indicator light should work perfectly. And you're welcome
