what hugo says in a comment is true You have to measure the amperage of consumption of the LED strip and apply the law of ohms ....... if they are in series is approx. 20 mA suppose you have a voltage drop in the resistance of 7.5v ........ and that the consumption of the led strip is 0.02A 7.5 / 0.02 = 375 with a resistance of 375ohms of a 1 / 4w it should work .......... EYE !!!!! you must know well what the consumption is. another option is to use a regulator IC 7806, but in my opinion it is better and easier to use a resistor Regards
