Hello I have published problems related to this car before but the detail is this Buy a compatible alternator from the Ford topaz 1989 and mine is 91 the only difference is 10amp less charge But when I installed it and started with the multimeter on, I realized that the voltage was maintained at 12.7v and after 10 seconds the warning light came on the engine slowed down and then it accelerated again and puf the multimeter flew from 12.3 to 17.6v Of course when this happened, I got scared and I didn't let 10 seconds go by because the band also started screaming When I turned off the engine and went to see the band it was smoking and it smelled edible and the pulley like the alternator was burning I thought something was burned because so much heat and voltage in such a short time is not normal So I installed the old alternator and measured voltage and to my surprise it came to 16v I was also in overload So after the story that the detail happened here my car should take 5 wires to the alternator 3 in the regulator and 2 to the base but there are only 3 2 are in the regulator and the cable that charges the battery As you investigate the 2 missing wires are 1 a thermal sensor and the other a alternator charge sensor I need to know exactly where the regulator cables in the following image go Where the ASI terminals should go, which in my case S is not connected, the cable is not only a piece but the continuation is not there and therefore I do not know where it goes I hope and someone can tell me where it goes although the alternator is from a Ford Topaz also the connection is the same the ghia and the ranger so if someone knows where the cables of those cars go they also serve me Annex more photos for reference https://adjuntos.yoreparo.com/imagen_post/0004/60/b2bd59e8f043393182cb7996e807bb1faf2b784b.jpeg" alt="" />

And well, since there is no one in this forum with the knowledge to fix my problem, I have to solve this solution here. The regulator terminal marked S (STS) means stator and is connected to the small terminal that is close to the regulator which is S (ST) this connection of the regulator with the alternator stator keeps the alternator edited and thus the regulator can turn off the alternator and prevent me from charging more than normal this on engines that are 3g like mine Here the second solution the alternator that I bought when being of an older model is 2g version therefore this terminal is not In order for this alternator to work, connect its terminal S next to terminal I (IGN) so that it would be the stator terminal stria next to the terminal that designed the regulator to turn on the alternator with this and regulate correctly And well I hope someone else will serve my experience since it was more than 1 month of vatallar Finally I attach images of where I draw my conclusions and then confirm them by testing in this image looks like the mentioned terminals connected This photo is of a cable for 2g alternator version like the one you bought to put a 3g alternator as the original I think the opposite of what I need, but it clearly shows how the st and sts terminals are attached Finally and most importantly a diagram of a type 3g alternator as you will see the wiring are very well indicated Well friends, I hope and serve you greetings and goodbye
