Greetings colleagues, this TV came to my workshop, the client's story is not convincing, according to a cousin who is a technician I check it because I had an audio problem but I deliver it because I did not get the fault, I always turn on the TVs in front of the customers to tell what they are telling me because it usually happens that they tell you that the TV has a fault when the reality is that it does not even turn on or has a totally different one. Indeed the TV did not turn on in front of them and I made it clear that then we are already talking about at least 2 different failures, the power and audio. To make the short story, I managed to turn on the TV, but you can see the screen cut out at the bottom, a black strip of at least about 5 cm, the image is not folded or the typical stripes of devalued capacitors are observed, it is as if the image were simply diminished, when connecting a cable signal and self-programming, it does not tune any channel, it shows a screen with rain, opaque and unfocused, the osd of the menu, the channel number, volume bar etc is observed and it does not have audio , We would already be talking about vertical failure, audio failure and tuning failure. Focus and gave a little screen to stabilize, enter the menu and note that all values were "zero", brightness, contrast, color, dye, also the audio, bass, treble, etc. adjust all the values at medium level, and set the language in Spanish, but when you turn off the TV with the control and turn it on again all the values returned to zero again including the language was again in English, which makes me assume that all the failures including the first of the audio could come from the eprom memory, I could also notice observing when turning on the TV that the screen opens full for about 2 or 3 seconds before the black strip appears so that the vertical stage maybe the yoke is working well, here my doubt and that's why I come to you to ask if I'm right about my suspicion. Any suggestion or experience about any failure similar to this one in advance will be welcomed and appreciated. Greetings from Venezuela

Let's see, for the description you make of the symptom, you should check in the "I2C BUS", one of the lines that make it up; "SDA" or "SCL" could be "short" with respect to GND (earth or mass). Now, the SDA and SCL pins are found in the Micro and the EEPROM (5 and 6), also in the Tuner or tuner, to make sure of this presumption I suggest you to fix the black tip of the Ohmmeter to the shield of the tuner and with the red tip alternate on these pins. If the resistance value is very low, then check that there is no welding residue short or that the speaker cable has been incorrectly installed on the connector for the use of the "ComPair" interface (computer-assisted repair) , this connector is very close to the Tuner. Greetings! Joansoler. If the absence of audio also occurs for external inputs (AV or VIDEO), then proceed to the replacement of C2444: 470uF / 16V. If instead it is only on TV, then check elements associated to the PLL Filter and Demodulator / Deemphasis circuits located on pins 31 and 28/29 respectively of "ONECHIP" (UOC or Micro / Jungle), preferably C2201 and R2201.

Dear colleague joansoler, it is a pleasure to work with people as qualified and observant as you and the colleagues who assist me, seeing the background of my fault where this TV was previously reviewed by another person and reading your contribution immediately I could verify that indeed the cable of The audio card where the RCA side connectors are installed was installed in the interface port on the side of the tuner, when the speaker cable was correctly connected, the tuned channel and the complete image were left at the top of the screen, leaving only the fault audio

I was measuring the voltages of the AN7522N audio ic and I only have 12 volts on pin 1, the rest of the voltages, most of the pins mark 0 volts and the occasional mark 3.3 volts

Try to connect a dvd to see if there was audio but when placing A / V I only see the SVHS input, enter the service mode but I don't know what is the value that I must modify so that the A / V input appears, I also noticed that in the error code these numbers appear to me 5 0 6 10 2, will they have to do with the audio failure?

To clear or erase the error buffer (ERR) data, select the CLEAR item and then enter it. To activate AV select the OPTION item and enter it to set OP5 to a value of 204.
To save these changes, turn off the TV with the CR (Remote Control) and then disconnect from the power grid for 10 sec. After this time, connect the TV again to turn it on and check if you have saved these changes correctly.

I already set the value of OP5 to 204 and the A / V input is activated, put a dvd and I don't have audio for the external input, change the integrated audio and I still have no results, I will adjust the values in the memory according to the parameters of service that you are passing me OP1, OP2, OP3 ... etc

Colleague joansoler summarize, replaced the audio ic, probe with a dvd to cost if audio was output by external input, adjust the parameters in the eprom memory, I replaced the capacitor C2444; 470uF / 16V as I suggested and I still have no audio, now I ask there is an integrated behind the audio output, it is the AN5891K that I think has to do with the audio of the TV, someone knows if I am right and if I could have something What to do with the fault? How do I try this ic?

It is imperative that this AN7522N has between 3V and 5V on its 5: ST BY pin, and also between 0.2V and 1.2V on its 9: VOL pin.
Before suspecting the AN5891K, I suggest using a small amplifier to track the presence of signal on the inputs (pins 6 and 8), only in case you have to release pin 9 to see if you get audio on its output pins, in this condition the volume goes to the maximum.
Make sure the speakers are not defective and there is no interrupted printed track in this sector.

Hi, if the memory is not working, it is not recording, replacing it with a new one is not necessary to load the program eprom if you know how to use the service mode, almost all of them work without eprom memory only when it is turned off Everything is deleted and the audio track checks the integrated one if the power arrives or disconnects the 4148 diode that is Located next to the integrated audio. http://13norte.blogspot.com/2012/07/philips-21pt633385-sin-sonido.html

Greetings Aurelioes2014, thanks for resonating, you tell me to load the program to the eprom, just enter the service mode by typing with the remote, how do I do it? Now I think I have another chassis the same, my other question is if I could directly change the memory from one chassis to another?

Greetings aurelioes2014, I changed the eprom memory and the TV remained the same, which discards my assumption, but with the contribution of fellow joansoler where I said that I checked the connection of the audio cable helped the failure of the image clipping and the failure of I did not tune any channels were corrected, now the TV looks perfectly and keeps the values placed in the menu recorded but still with the audio failure, I will check the voltages in the integrated and I comment. In the same way all your suggestions are welcome ...

This is the second TV of this brand with audio failure and I have not been able to repair it in both cases, these devices are old and the owner does not want to invest much in it, with the approval of the client apply a practical solution because here in Venezuela the This TV's audio ic is somewhat expensive for some entondces with a pair of headphones. I got a point where I had an audible signal from the channel near the IC an5891k, install a headphone jack input and connect a computer remote control amplified cornets of the same client, no It is the solution of the fault but it works for the owner.

I close the post, the client did not want to invest more time or money therefore with his approval I located audio of the channel near the an5891k ic with some headphones and installed a jack input to connect some amplified computer speakers that have remote control, it is not the electronic solution of the fault but if it is functional for the client.
