Dibra 1HP cutter motor model 8006004

Good day. I have a Dibra cutter model C-50SR. A few days ago he began to make a strange noise and does not lift speed. After removing the engine (model 8006004), and turning it by hand, I notice that a metallic friction occurs. It turns about half a turn and two metals "collide", and collide again as they continue to spin. At the bottom of the shaft, on the inner side of the case, there is a metal disk that I think is the one that causes the crash. That disk, indicated in the attached photo, when pushed with the fingers, slides about three millimeters along the axis. Can anyone explain to me what function that disc plays? Is it correct that a piece that retains it in its place is moved or broken? Thank you very much.

Hi. That metal disk can be a centrifugal switch although they are usually made of insulating materials. Have you opened the engine to see it more closely? Cheers

Hi servimat1. Thanks for your answer. I removed the top of the housing, and now, as it seems half difficult to remove the bottom with the bearing extractor I have, I was going to try to lubricate the shaft well and connect it outside the trimmer to see if I get more information about the problem.

I cleaned everything, lubricated the bearings, tested the engine outside the mower and felt no previous noise. I assembled the machine and when I tried it it worked perfect, without grass. Next weekend will be the final test of fire with the weeds accumulated, but I suppose it should go well. Thank you very much for your attention. You've been very kind. Regards.
