Greetings friends of Yo Reparo. I just bought a hoist with a 12V to 12 or 15A motor but I don't want to use it with a battery but with a converter or adapter with the capacities listed. I know there are both Alternating and Direct Current, but I don't know what the difference is between them and their uses. I need your advice please. For your attention I thank you in advance. Hi aubreygraham. If it is for an elevator and it will be fixed. Therefore it must be with 110V AC input and 12V DC output at 12 or 15A which are the data of the hoist

Then I recommend a source like this

It would be perfect for you.

You can have a source (converter) of 12V and amperage of 30A, and thus use your hoist, could you expand the way you want to use it a little more? With electricity from your home?

Hi. Actually if they have the possibility that they are mobile they will be battery powered then it will be direct current. If it is to use with eliminator it is better in continuous since there is the possibility that you will ever need to use it with an accumulator. regards

Hi servimart1. If as you say and your idea is very good that a hoist of these characteristics can be used with both alternating and direct current depending on the circumstances. And if there are batteries from 12V DC to 12A But what I don't want is to be recharging periodically. I am grateful for your advice.

It should not necessarily be 12 amps. You can connect it to any battery of that voltage. The more amperes / hour greater autonomy.
