Fridge does not cut in half or maximum

Hello good night everyone, I wanted to ask for help with my tropical peabody refrigerator model L-42. I have it already several years ago and everything was fine but this last time I started the problem first it started that I did not cut, I called a technician and he told me it was the thermostat, I change everything ok. Then I realized that the refrigerator only cut at minimum bone when I put it in half or maximum does not cut at all. Nor does the refrigerator turn off when I set it to 0. I called the technician and he came out saying that I only use it at a minimum. Now it's starting to not cut again. I don't really know what the problem may be, I checked all the previous technician and I had no fault, it was just the thermostat. I hope you can help me. It should be clarified that I wanted to call the technician again but a total blackmail no longer answers me.

Hi Cristian, I commented that there are models of thermostats that do not cut at zero. I rule out a bad connection since it cuts to a minimum, but I don't rule out that the thermostat may be uncalibrated (especially the Chinese) or outside another refrigerator model with a different temperature. Nor do you have to discard a compressor with little pressure or pumping force or with compromised valves since if so, they mostly cut only at a minimum and some do not even reach a minimum. It is necessary to connect the thermostat to maximum, leave it for a couple of hours and take the temperature to see how much it arrives and check that the entire wall at the bottom of the part of the refrigerator is filled with frost to rule out problems.

Thanks for the help, I tell you to change the thermostat thinking it was the fault. Buy the same as the thermostat that the technician bought first. Because according to the owner of the premises, he is the same one he leads. But it says done in Taiwan just like the first thermostat that the technician bought. Still not cut in half or maximum. I no longer have a serca technician to call because I was the only one close to the one I called but I no longer have confidence in that guy besides I get a lot of money from the thermostat. I don't know if they could recommend me some reliable technician I live in caba 1 block from Avellaneda Park

Hello, a friend handed me the information of a technician and told me this
Hello, those refrigerators have a problem that when they break and you change the thermostat they do not work well, it is better to put a room thermostat that is much better and cuts in the temperature you want.
Is it okay to put that thermostat on?

No, that data is not completely correct. Pay attention to this: the thermostat is only a cut-off switch or a cut-off switch that activates according to the temperature it takes from the place where the thermostat bulb (long copper tube) is attached. Mostly a refrigerator needs to cut at least -13.5 ° C at the place where the bulb is attached. If by chance for some reason it does not reach that minimum cold temperature, it will never cut. That is why I say that you have to take temperatures first and then know if it is automatic or another problem, whether it is a compressor or a leak

refrigerant gas or a filtering cap or capillary. It is not for the doubts to change automatic and you see that you bought another one and it does not work, look for a technician who evaluates temperatures and if the temperature is good then try to buy the automatic of the same brand to the original and not a Chinese substitute with the same number,

I tell you that I do the following when the refrigerator does not cut due to lack of cold temperature. I speak with the client, I explain the causes if I am sure that we are talking about a worn out or troubled compressor and I cancel the automatic bypassing the cable that is going to be made or if I put the automatic in maximum cold and put (plug) in the socket from the wall a PROGRAMMABLE MECHANICAL TIMER and the refrigerator plug it into the TIMER. This timer can be programmed for 15 minutes for each leg that you lower or go up or down. If you raise 4 legs and leave 2 below, it means that 1Hs

It will work and 30 minutes will stop. The timer does not work by temperature, it is only a device that cuts or enables the power to the refrigerator, of course when it cuts you will not have light inside the refrigerator, that way you make sure that it starts and stops until one day it does not cool anymore Compressor wear. You must be sure that your problem is not lost of refrigerant and you will detect it if you put it in maximum cold and after a while running you have ice on the whole panel of the bottom of the refrigerator part. It frosts to almost 20 cm above where the

vegetable drawer If outside those that do not have cold embedded plate and are those that bring an aluminum cold plate you will notice that all the aluminum will frost bone the entire plate

I tell you that when I put it in maximum if I frost all the aluminum all the plate. As I had said, I can't find a good technician who really fixes the refrigerator since the first one just changed the thermostat and left, the second one commenting just in the afternoon wants to change for an ambient thermostat.

Well it would be fine or complete with gas that would mean that you have no loss, BUT you are not free of a compressor that does not have enough pumping force and despite having complete frost on the plate it does not reach 13 degrees below zero that would be the minimum temperature to achieve a cut in position 1 of an automatic. The environment would be a solution but you must pay a technician and with the programmable mechanical timer you can do it, you buy it at hardware stores or electrical or electronic houses just ask them to teach you how to lower or raise legs is very simple

If you decide to come the technician ask him to take the temperature of the aluminum plate after more or less 1Hs
or 1: 30Hs of continuous operation of the compressor, sufficient time for normal conditions to reach at least 18 degrees below zero or more.

Possibly the thermostat model is not the one that should go or the one that set is failed. regards

I do not believe because according to the technician he brought the same thermostat model and it should be clarified that I myself change another thermostat of the same model, number and the same thing happens not cut in minimum or maximum.

The theme is: Did the technician buy a thermostat equal to the one he originally brought? Since if it is not like that and you buy another one based on the model that he changed will always fail you. regards

If I buy the same model and number.

Hello for what you say, it is the thermostat that does not work because if you set it to 0 it should cut, unless it is badly connected.

Hi, thanks for the help, I thought it was the thermostat and I went to buy another one of the same model and number but it doesn't stay the same, it only cuts to a minimum and nothing else.

It is necessary to place the bulb as closely as possible to the evaporator plate sheet, since the plate possibly traveled backwards and it could be that the bulb or tip of the thermostat does not stick properly to the evaporator sheet, but if not You can, you can calibrate the thermostat to cut properly, it is a matter of calibrating the corresponding screw.
