hello good night friends how are you? I am checking a mabe fridge without frost and the cold did not pass to the other compartment, when I see the cold passage and the drain was blocked a little, and it was only frozen halfway, I checked the bimetal and it is in perfect condition just like the resistance, and the clock does the cycle very well, what else could it be? friends, thank you very much in advance

Hello Eliecel, the first thing you should look at is that the evaporator is filled with fine frost, because I did not quite understand what it says about it freezing half. If you do not completely freeze the evaporator starting from zero frosts, after one hour of work, I suggest you check promptly and in detail the pipe that these Mabe usually have in the drain pan, to exchange heat and at the same time evaporate the water that falls in it . Check it with foam or soapy water, looking for bubbles that indicate a possible refrigerant leak. If the complete evaporator is filled with fine frosts, it will obviously not have any breakdown by drain. In that case you should focus your attention on the drainage system that you would have to remove if necessary and on the defrosting system that would be one of the two, the cause of the problem. The resistance can be measured, such as the thermal fuse, for continuity, the time says that it works well, however I suggest you try it well and listen to it do not make any type of noise or purr, if it does so even if it works supposedly well you should replace it with other. The bimetal that you say is good, I assure you that the only effective way you can check it is through the same cold of the refrigerator, placed in its factory place, you must let it cool down for about 6 hours without stopping the compressor and then perform a manual defrosting of the refrigerator, taking the active working time, resistance to amperage consumption, with a clamp multimeter or the well-known jucón. This time should exceed 10 minutes in the case of the Mabe cold, depending on the outside temperature that would also greatly influence the cycle to shorten if it was very hot or prolonged if there is cold. Then immediately after the refrigerator completes the defrosting, as soon as the compressor starts, it must be stopped, disconnecting it from the mains, all the plastic cover that conceals the evaporator would be removed and this would be evaluated. If there is no trace of frosts, the bimetal will be ok and act to continue in place, but if it fails to completely clean the ice evaporator, it would be hopelessly damaged. S @ lu2s friovega63.

Hello friend Eliecel how are you, well one of the things that may be happening is that the evaporator has oil and remember that this is antifreeze, if you already checked the pressure and it's ok, now so test it very well with the bimetallic, same the resistance is at the moment of activating the clock and the bimetallic is normally closed must activate for a certain time that will depend on the bemetalic but if it lasts very little it will be able to completely uncoil it, pending with that as the tests and comments

Hello friend, that fridge is losing gas, (leak) check the pipe that goes inside the drain pan, which is close to the engine you should do it soon, before you lose all the pressure and by the hole absorb water from the tray, Regards.

That's right, you should be careful with the water in the tray, because if it enters the system, it creates a barbaric moisture, greetings.
