good friends I am a technician and I have been presented several failures with a freezer where they tell me that the light goes out, comes and stops cooling ... . The engine starts but does not cool, they lose gas but I don't find any leaks. Is it possible to evaporate? that is what I don't want to believe ... who can help me thanks ..

Hello The refrigerant does not evaporate if it does not have a leak in the circuit, which is what that refrigerator has. You will have to locate that leak and if it is in the inner tubes, you have to discover them Regards

Good night, the refrigerant is only lost when there is a leak in the circuit, it does not end or expire, it must last every year in which the operating equipment lasts, unless there is a loss (leak), in these cases in which The equipment presents the leakage when it is turned off, as you indicate when the light goes out, it is usually the leak in the low pressure circuit (evaporator), since in operation the pressure inside the low circuit is usually around 0 psi if the refrigerant is R134a, and when the compressor is turned off, the pressures in both circuits (low and high) tend to balance between 40 and 60 psi, and when the equipment is off for a long time, the pressure is usually between 70 and 80 psi for the R134a, so the low pressure system is the one that is most demanded with the equipment off and, therefore, the probability that it is by the evaporator is higher; for example, in my country Venezuela that the light goes out continuously and for long hours, every time there have been these cases in which after the power goes out and after arriving the equipment has lost the refrigerant, it is almost always by the evaporator, but in the same way you should section the system, and pressurize both circuits, the low one (evaporator) and the high pressure one (condenser).

thanks aigo .. i am also from venezuela .. the frezeer has the evaporator pipe internally it does not leak .. well i had equal gas i will check .. i will only change the filter qo was blocked and check that the capillary is not clogged thanks ,,

If it is a leak, it will not be worth repairing since it would have it in the evaporator and it is internally in the housing of the equipment to repair it, the freezer should be protected and it would not be worth it.

Ok, well if you had gas, there could be two causes, plugging in a filter drier and / or capillary tube, or microfuge that despite having gas, has lost slowly, in these cases it is convenient to take advantage of the gas you took out and pressurize parts , the evaporator circuit is almost always aluminum, you can pressurize it up to 100 psi, and the condenser can pressurize it from 200 to 250 psi and leave the pressure gauges even up to 1 day so that you are totally sure that there is no microfuge; If you notice that it is in the evaporator, forget about it, it is cheaper in this country to get

a freezer without a compressor that is in good condition and you put the compressor, but if the leak is from the condenser, you could place an external grill and save the freezer; If there are no leaks in any of the circuits, I suggest that you test the compressor by performing a vacuum test to measure the compression and verify its good performance, if you pass this test, then there is no doubt that the problem is obstruction in the system .

The gas does not evaporate, loses properties or something similar, if the light goes out and then returns and no longer cools, it is almost normal that the filter is clogged, it has to be left for a good time to see if the oil to the compressor and it works well again and cool, it cannot be leaking, because when resting the compressor, all or most of the refrigerant would have already left, since there are several cuts for the rest of the compressor in one day, to me Personally, it has happened to me with several clients who say I was working well and the power went out and when it came back it didn't cool anymore and the filter was blocked, greetings

Greetings friend, I recommend that you pressurize the condenser and the evaporator, mostly it is usually by the condenser, unless they have thrown the evaporator knife, separates both evaporator and condenser, each one seals an inlet and you put a valve service at the other entrance, you throw r410a (gas only do not turn the cylinder) if it does not leak make sure the capillary is not clogged. Find the leak and correct the, if the leak is in the condenser and it is inside the freezer place a grill outside for the size of the compressor (1/5, 1/4, 1/3) depending, the gas is not evaporate that for sure

You cannot say that you are a technician and ask if the refrigerant evaporates

I'd rather ask to be left with the doubt ... I know it's not like that but I didn't have security ... thanks
