The thermal relay pin is damaged

IMG_20170904_111229.pdf [666.32kb] Good afternoon to those who can read me, I have a Wirlpool 110 refrigerator model WRNE322 for about 15 years installed in a cottage that we visited no longer as often as we used to do, the fact is that with a certain frequency (once a year I could say) when it came to spend a few days I found that the refrigerator did not cool but the engine was working, the first time this happened I called a technician in the area and this dismantled the plastic back plate and I took a relay which I replaced and ready, after a few minutes you could see which was already beginning to cool; this same happened to me in 3 or 4 opportunities but as I already knew what the failure might be, before calling someone I bought a relay and placed it and saved me money. This week I did not run with the same luck because I found that at some point there was a short circuit, and I will give more details. He had said that except for this last time when I found the refrigerator without cooling the engine was kept on, this Embraco engine has on the top a plastic tray that collects water from the thaw, I had noticed that this tray had deformed in its ends, rather as melted; then in this last opportunity I suppose that it happened exactly the same with the difference that the tray had water and this when not being retained falls directly on the place where the relays go, result short circuit, all singed, the cover of the relays, the own ones cables, thank God did not happen to older, but in the short a cable had to stay stuck on some of these pins and ate almost completely, then the thermal relay (a single pin) fails to make contact with the leg as small as it gets. The question specifically is if someone could tell me if this has repair, replacement or definitely the engine can no longer be used. I appreciate your comments

I dare not do it myself because to begin with nor the tools required I have, but I will take it to a workshop to see what they tell me. An additional question if it is well welded is there any risk of short ??

An additional question, the option to repair it if you get a similar housing, which results are usually obtained, that would be cheaper than a new engine

Hi, if it is possible to upload images to be able to suggest more safely, because it could be that you can weld some solid copper wire of the thickness of the contact pin, but if this is too short is to change the compressor, Reedito la response, it is possible that the relay is amperometric long as the first image attached, it could be replaced by a short amperometric relay, and the cable of the thermal protector (the round) weld it directly to the cut contact of the motor, if welding well no problem, but there is a precedent: the team is losing the relays, so I suggest you change that engine, you may be consuming more current than normal due to internal problems (electric or mechanical) and for that reason is overheating or has boot problems, make it check this time to take it to the workshop, greetings. amperometric relay corto.jpg [8.36kb] amperometric relay corto.gif [8.29kb]

fernando if the pins of the relay are destroyed as you mentioned change it for a new one, and if they destroyed the motor pins you would have to change the understanding motor is not so clear your question, as the tecnico2015 design should upload a photo to give you a suggestion luck

Hi, how are you, a possible solution is to solder with tin a male hollow bronze pin if you weld well you will be able to use that engine without problems, greetings. /20/3dcaa51547df3461de72db0edb41b8a902ac7aad.png[/img]
