Hi guys, a question I have a split 3000 frig r22 team that was 2 years with open valves. Desolder the compressor and remove the oil. Then I will sweep with r141b to clean impurities My question is, what oil does this equipment carry? And if I can change it to another refrigerant (I think there was one and I don't remember which one) And if I change the refrigerant, what oil should I have for the compressor? Hello lisandro, this equipment carries mineral oil, it can be suniso 3gs or better, suniso 4gs, so it is called but you ask when you buy R22 Refrigerant gas oil and I recommend using the same R22 gas or, failing that, R417 that closely resembles r22 and mostly has the same working pressures. You should search by brand and power of the compressor in a list of how much oil it carries. Mostly a 2500 or 3000 frig carries between 350 and 400 Cm3

The R417 or Dupont Mo59 which is the same can be used with mineral oil but I recommend if it is possible to use R22



Thanks, David. I am going to try that refrigerant if I get it but I will go to R417 since it must be cheaper and the working pressures are not very different. Thanks bonnet
