Hello good morning, I have a split of 12000 btu brand lg 220 volt, r-22. I changed the compressor for a new one, I swept it with nitrogen, its vacuum for 20 min, I loaded it up to 60 psi with 5.1 amp, I work for 04 days call me I'm going to check and I get a leak through the high pipe, I pick up the remaining refrigerant in the compressor and repair the leak. Again I make his sweep and empty, I release the refrigerant that had the copresor turned on and began to load; BUT the manometer is read from 60 psi to 35 psi a stable reading is not maintained and its consumption is 5.2 amp and also varies a bit. Let it work and cool well. My concern is it will be a terror to have left the previous refrigerant or what will be the cause of this instability and what would be its possible consequence. Thank you.

Hello Carlos, I see the error in having collected the remaining refrigerant in the system, because with the collection by the fusera of the leak, surely introduced and stored inside the condensing unit itself, an x amount of air or non-condensable gases , that by releasing them again within the entire system these gases do not have the property of changing their state from gaseous to liquid and from liquid to gaseous, at the same working pressures of the refrigerant as it passes through the condenser and the evaporator of the equipment , and that is why the great fluctuation is observed that it observes when raising and lowering sharply the internal pressures of the system reflected in the manometer, giving reasons in addition to that the equipment may cool something but it does not manage to lower the real temperature for which it is designed. You must sweep the system with nitrogen, change the filter drier and make a prolonged vacuum with vacuum pump for about 30 or 45 minutes to also properly dehydrate the system. Luck.
