I have a split air that was repaired by a colleague for a leak in the low pipe by cracking the flange. Now the air freezes in the high pipe and the low pressure in 10Psi. I have two assumptions, 1) refrigerant leak 2) clogged capillary. what dou you recommend?

It is very important to try if you have the equipment to test with nitrogen, in particular I leave it at least from one day to another and if it does not lower the needle I proceed to the rest that guarantees a good job as well as saving time and money, it is only an opinion!

Here nitrogen is very expensive. We use 300 psi air and soapy water to detect leaks. Then a good vacuum. And ready gas was charged. After finishing, I turn off the unit and with the same equilibrium pressure it is verified that there is no leakage with soapy water.

Hello Dr. Elctron: If you can take out the covers and see it in operation you can get to realize if the filter or capillary is covered, it also verifies the consumption that also guides you in the possible cause of the problem. From the moment it starts you have that low pressure? I assume that the condenser has already been cleaned and the correct operation of the condenser forger and its capacitor has been verified. This is the option without spending anything on materials. The other is to add some refrigerant and see how it reacts, without adding and the pressure does not rise, well it can already be a partial obstruction of the filter or capillary. Luck, comment your results.

The forcers work normal. The idea of consumption is good. Assuming that I have a high consumption problem should be obstruction. And if the consumption is low it must be leak. I will do that, thanks apiconaut.

Hello friend, I already solved, indeed the consumption was low, in the case of a split air of 12000btu / h and 220 volts, the normal consumption is 5.7 A according to the plate. And in the measurement it gave me 2 A. So I looked for the leak and found it at the high junction. Thank you.
