Good evening from Mexico ... I installed a 1300w minisplit at 220v (two phases and one neutral) of one ton (12,000 btu) in a loading center with a 50A thermal pad ... I have a series of questions that I I wish you could help me solve ...
1.- If I understand correctly, the power is calculated according to the following formula: P = V * I, and making the calculations gives us a score of I = 1300w / 220v = 5.9 A approximately ... then the double tablet (for be 220v) should it be 10A really right?
2.- In the connection of the minisplit to the load center, the technician only connected the two phases (brown and blue wire) of 127v each to the thermal pad, leaving the neutral cable of the minisplit without connection to the load center; It is to say, it is loose. Question, is this connection correct?
3.- The cable that feeds the load center is 10 AWG; Searching on the internet I found that it supports up to 30A ... if this data is correct then I could use another new box of 6 windows (two for each air conditioner) of the same characteristics with 3 double pads of 10 A each?
Note : I have to say that the main box has 2 phases and a neutral (220v in total) but only one of the two phases is used towards the house (inside the house); that is 127v.
I appreciate your support and hope you can help me. Best regards
