Air Conditioning Problems, freezes the indoor unit

Hello colleagues, good day and Happy New Year to all, good story begins. An Air of 9000 BTU, was moved from a bedroom to a living room, by a technical assumption. It turns out that I cut the length of the pipes, and left them 50 cm, because he put them in front, the Split and the Compressor separates them only the wall. Now it turns out that everything turns on very nice, but it does not generate cold, what it does is ice on the entire panel of the Split, but it does not cool. It may be just lack of refrigerant gas or we will be with some other problem. Thank you.

Hello, good morning, that the inner unit may freeze may be a lack of refrigerant, just as there is a measure of working pressure.
If the installation was recent, the technician must respond.

Good day triatlon99, thanks for your time, here is a very small town and we all know each other, and the supposed technician turned out to be a rogue, I called him we talked and he told me that what he did was change it and try to get it going but that does not save because the air does that, in short a bandit, but there is no one to call, so I am trying to orient myself a little so that they do not lie to me anymore, and I am looking forward to reaching out my hand, buying some manometer and that and get a hand.

The first thing is to measure pressures, in case of leakage correct, then pressurize again vacuum and refrigerant charge.

hello brother happy new year. The first thing that needs to be done is a check-up by a technician you trust and that makes a diagnosis. Since it may have a problem first, the fan motor of the evaporator unit may be malfunctioning, poorly washed, leaking or the ambient temperature may also be affecting you if it is r 22 due to the ground temperatures many airs suffer from this problem my recommendation is first the check by qualified hands. Greetings from Rio Chico.

Hi Harley, thanks for the suggestion, my question is to gather some information about the length of the pipes, because there are several opinions found, thank you very much.

If brother you are right, each technician has a different story regarding the length of the pipes. if you look at it as a window that opinions are almost null. You have to do the checkup.
