Hello Given the state of the key, the best and cheapest is that you replace it with a ball valve, they are cheap and durable. Cheers !

Hello, it would be best to change it but if you do not want to do so much movement, close the key before this, unscrew the key to change the gaskets or oring, you also have to stop leaking when you open the key completely, you can try trying to open it little more

the pvc pipe that is seen in the photo is new and goes to a submersible pump (1/2 hp) it was spliced with the previous metal pipe, that valve is in a closed position and lets water into the tank, the issue is that loses enough, I would like to know if it should be changed for some other type of valve more precise (type butterfly or ball for example) or with some adjustment or teflon could be solved, thanks

if you can but you need no pressure in the pipe since if there is pressure a jet of water will come out and maybe it will be complicated to put it in addition to being probably soaked, look at the smaller nut from the top you can remove it and then give it more Turn the knob so that it comes out completely, once outside you can put enough teflon tape on the nut gasket with the plunger you just removed or a packing also known as oring.
