Lead embedded in the thread of the shower water spout

Good, about 4 years ago I remember buying a new flexible spout for a Scottish shower column for the bathroom. The flexible had to be 50 cm long, it is seen that an "illuminated" in a hardware store gave me (now I realize) a flexible gas, since it has blue and red marquitas on the outside and I think that is the norm in Argentina? if not, then it was a very bad flexible, it turns out that the thread that is screwed on the wall is of a kind of lead and when I removed the flexible it was like that molten lead - very little - on the edges of the thread of bronze on the wall, it turns out that now I want to screw a new flexible and does not enter, it is like that the lead "melted" and got stuck in the grooves of the thread, I am afraid to hit it with a screwdriver and falsify the bronze shoes. Is there any way to remove these lead debris without damaging the zurcos? since if the damage would be a problem since it would have to break the wall to place a new bronze. Help or advice, thanks. Hi. The flexible one with blue and red marks is because it is used for hot and cold water. You can clean the bronze thread with a wire brush. The remains you find will be the threads of the flexible too tight. Salu2

Perhaps remnants of thread sealant. Do not you remember that you put it when installing it?

I put Teflon and I screwed it up, that's all. Tomorrow I will try to pass a bronze kitchen sponge, if it does not work I will be able to use the screwdriver as Plan B.

You don't need a screwdriver, but you can use one between threads with a nut, or an iron nipple, as follows, with a metal saw, you make longitudinal cuts, (three or four), on the beginning of the thread, With work and effort you try to screw it into the female you have on the wall, when you do it, you will have rectified the female's fillets and bye bye. luck

Confirmed, with the attached photo you can see that they are thread remains of the flexible. And the cleanliness you did was barbaric. I'm glad. Regards

Hello Gabriel: definitely the problem was the quality of the flexible, personally it happened male thread, but if you do not have, and being a bronze foot you should not damage it by passing a screwdriver to lick the thread. LUCK

Thanks, I tried with the bronze sponge and also with a nail (to try to emulate the suggestion of SERVIMAT1. The solution was finally to give it with a screwdriver and it was hitting it very gently with a hammer, it was a tera of about 30 minutes and the Work went pretty well, there are some manufacturers who have no scruples.

Hi. Flexible lead or with its threads of that material if I'm not mistaken never existed. Formerly they came or made of that material but with bronze connections. Currently they come in plastic or chromed bronze. The mesh ones are not very reliable but their threads are bronze. To remove the remains of the material that is the threads you must use a hook-shaped tool (such as the scanners used by dentists) that you can buy at a hardware store. They are not expensive, even small brushes (like toothbrushes) made of bronze or steel that you can also use. Regards

Well, there I uploaded a couple of photos, I do not know if it is lead but it is like a very coarse alloy then. I will consider your suggestion, thank you.
