Punched buried water pipe

Hi, I was pulling some roots from a tree and it turns out that I broke a water pipe qualimenta the quincho of my house, the hole is small but it has enough pressure that the water comes out flying up. Can it be fixed with poxiline? Since it is buried. Or do I have to cut the section and weld? The pipe is not sure what kind of metal it is. Thank you

Hi. Because of the oxide it has, it doesn't seem to be copper. Regards

Hi Ricardo, how could you solve it by ruling out that it is copper?

Hello As servimat1 tells you. A quick union The safe parallel spout can be separated a little, enough to cut and repair. If it is galvanized (which is what it looks like) it would change the section for black hose for drinking water (the one that AYSA uses for the supply). That pipe already has an expiration date. Regards

Hi look, I was more complicated than I thought, next to the water pipe there is another one that seems to be gas, therefore I do not get the coupling. And also a part of the pipe already begins to be covered by the tiles. I uploaded a new photo. Thank you

Being copper, you can tin it, covering the perforation. It is not necessary to cut.

Hello ennio, with a blowtorch, a butane and tin cartridge can I do it? Would the pressure support the welding? I would have to paint it so it doesn't rust?
Isn't there any kind of putty that will fix it?
Thank you

Being copper pipe the best is welding.
You have to sand well until it is shiny. It is used with solder paste and solder, not for electronics, since it is softer.

Hi. Upload a picture of the pipe to see its material but maybe you can put a quick repair joint. Regards

Hi there I uploaded the photo, I do not think I can put the coupling as it seems that the hot water pipe is next.

What material is it from?

Due to its appearance, it is not copper, in addition to its size, it is discarded to cover the break with welding.
You must comment if it happened to hit or was caused by wear.

The funny thing, is the regular form that has the break ..

Step by hitting it with a shovel

If I was sanding it to see what it was and it was that way haha

For any repair, it will not be as it is.
You must deepen the excavation and clean neatly.

It is galvanized. You can put a quick union like the one that I leave in the link without problems.

"Accommodating" the water pipe will enter the coupling without problems. You have no choice but this repair or the change of the pipe. Welding it will be an issue since it must be very damaged inside.

The problem is that the part that is on the side of the ceramics does not let me move the pipe a lot and I did not want to chop the floor.

You don't have many options. The issue is that if you force yourself with the pipe near the ceramics it may break (maybe not)

With that you can move the pipe at most a couple of centimeters you can place the joint.

I update, I kept raising land to move the pipe and put the coupling. It turns out that I found another part full of rust and when the rust came out another puncture about 30cm from the first puncture, nor the beat. I will have to change the entire section of pipe, can PVC be attached to the same galvanized? Thank you

You can do it. The ideal would be to reach a part with thread and from there change. Otherwise and if you cut the pipe (you remove the defective section) you can place a quick joint at each end by placing a section of PPN in the center.

Hello You have to put two wooden wedges so that the pipes separate, one on each side. Make room also from below, to be able to clean the cut pipe well. The other parallel pipe is hardly gas (it should be wrapped) is very likely to be hot water, you can verify it by circulating (hot water) to the touch you will realize. And if it were gas, it must also be separated to fix. Then you put the quick repairman Regards

To avoid these problems is that protection and pointing tapes are placed on buried pipes. Regards

I add: quick coupling on one end, replace as much as you can with black hose before said and another quick connection on the other end. The truth already merits total change even if you don't like it. Regards
