[Cold/Hottap] Shower goes from cold to boiling and vice versa

Hi, I have an old shower, one of those with old lead pipes. The problem is the following: When you open the hot water tap, it takes time to leave, but then it comes out very hot. This is why I start to open the cold water tap, and then start regulating. The problem arises there, since by wanting to regulate, moving the tap by millimeters, the water changes drastically from being boiling to being warm / freezing. I recently changed the stems of the 3 faucets, hot cold and the middle one (the one that decides if it comes out of the shower flower or the faucet below), but the result remains the same. I would like to have a greater margin at the time of opening the cold, and that the temperature change is less drastic. Any idea what might be happening? From already thank you very much!

Hi. This would be a problem or conflict of flows. When you open the cold water, turn on the water heater and since it is lead pipes, its inner diameter is probably reduced so that the water circulates slowly / little and overheats. You want to mix it and the cold water comes in with more pressure, canceling the hot one and turning off the water heater. The cold is red? Regards

Hi, what you say makes perfect sense. Yes, the water is network. Do you think there is any method to regulate the flow rates? Thank you

Unfortunately there is no way to do it. The only solution would be a complete change of pipes leaving with a collector from the tank for both hot and cold or placing a pressurizing pump at the base of the tank for hot water. The second option although it is to try is the most economical.

The other simpler way would be to try to close the cold water in your stopcock a bit to limit its flow. Do the test.
