Fan blows circuit breaker

GOOD MORNING. I WENT TO SEE A CEILING FAN THAT MAKES THE DIYUNTER JUMP EVERY TIME I TURNED IT ON. TRY TO DISCONNECT THE RETURN FROM THE FAN TERMINAL, OPERATE THE SWITCH AND DO NOT JUMP THE DIYTEROR. WHAT INDICATES THAT THE INSTALLATION IS OK. I WAS CALLED ATTENTION THAT THE COURT IS PRODUCED AFTER A FEW SECONDS. THE VENTILATES TRIED TO START AND THEN SED PRODUCES THE FAILURE. I CLARIFY THAT JUMPED THE DIYUNTOR AND DID NOT THINK IT I COULD GUIDE WHAT THE PROBLEM ORIGIN WOULD BE.

Hello! Say you were trying to start, so I guess it did not start properly, possibly because the boot capacitor is damaged.

CAN IT HAPPEN THAT THE CAPACITOR DOES JUMP THE JUMPER? THE TRUTH DID NOT HAPPEN TO CHANGE THE CAPACITOR

Hi The fan has an electrical leak, possible loss of insulation in the winding that has nothing to do with the capacitor and you will not be able to discover it with a low voltage instrument and less direct current like a tester. To check the leak, lower the engine and apply voltage with an exclusive power cut between the ground and the terminal block (each cable). Another way is with a series lamp with a filament bulb of 5w or less, in this case, if you turn on or jump the power cutter of the house, there is a declared leak. In the best case, you can reverse the line in the terminal of the fan and it may work another season (you remove the leakage from the discharge point and reduce it to less than 30 mA). The leak can be the same for the neutral, although in this case it does not happen (temporarily). In conclusion, most likely you should replace that engine as it is the most common. Greetings to all.

Hi, Check with tester that there is no leakage of the winding to the metal housing. This may cause the protection system (circuit breaker) to operate. Luck.

If you disconnect the Return, even if the switch acts, the motor does not reach current. It means that the leak is in the fan, as jorgetiger says from the winding to the housing. Arming

Hi It may take a few seconds for the circuit breaker to open for the following reasons: 1- it is a selective circuit breaker (with delay) which I don't think is the case 2- the fault intensity is increasing in a timeline and when it reaches the trip intensity, the circuit breaker acts accordingly. It can be insulation failure in a winding 3- the circuit breaker malfunctions (mechanical problems), must be replaced immediately, I remember a case of a Thompson circuit breaker that took almost 20 seconds to operate I would lean towards one of the cases 2 or 3 Cheers
