Thermal problem

Hello everyone and thank you very much to those who take a minute to help me with this inconvenience. I have a problem with the electricity of my house more specifically with a thermal of 20 amps that occasionally jumps and leaves me without light ... I clarify that it does not happen all the time or every day ... but it happens even if it is a Or twice a week. It also happens when Edesur cuts the light and then comes back ... The light does not return to me ... That is, the light returns but the thermal jumps and I have to raise it manually ... with that thermal the plugs that power the refrigerator, microwave, tv and washing machine with 2.5 mm cables. What do you think I change the thermal for a 25 amp or would I be demanding a lot from the cables? Thank you

Hi Ariel___ I advise you to take the consumption with an amperometric clamp, the change of the thermal is not to change so you no longer have to see what diameter of cable you have, if it is 2.5mm with a 20amp well. The thermal may be failing, that it is of poor quality. I would recommend you change it to one of the same good quality amperages and place a programmable high and low detector in your home on the general board, which you program when you want to cut high and how low to protect your electrical appliances

Thank you very much for the help. I tell you that the installation of my house is new, and from the beginning this happened. The odd thing is that it doesn't happen all the time but very occasionally. It may be because many times there is low tension where I live? So you recommend changing the thermal for a similar one? It is one of 20th Siemens. I was about to put one of 25. IN my opinion it is because of the refrigerator that I have that is more than 10 years old and maybe when it turns on it consumes a lot ... But the strange thing is that it does not always happen

As Nelso33 tells you, sometimes the trigger of thermomagnetic tends to be damaged, being sensitive before any eventuality of the energy, whether in the output as an input, any noise in the line can trigger them. The most advisable thing is to replace it with one of the same value, remember that they protect the cables, not the appliances, if in your house there is more consumption than your installation can withstand the thermomagnetic sooner or later it will end up shooting.

Hi. For what you mention the thermal would be jumping or cutting over consumption. This over consumption is very small and acts on the thermal part of the key over time. Technically it would be very close to thermal cutting. Is it the only one you have? Did you increase the charges or consumptions lately? Ideally, divide the house into two circuits or adapt the existing installation. Regards

thanks in the thermal that jumps I only have the plugs of the refrigerator, tv, microwave, the varropas and something else that can be plugged in sporadically. the rest of the appliances (such as air conditioners) are in another thermals. Can it be that the refrigerator being 10 years old when you turn on consumes a lot? But what seems odd to me is that if so, you should skip the therma every time you turn it on and it is not what happens ... it jumps very occasionally ...

Once a long time ago I had a similar problem. Even the thermal of a sector jumped only with the bell connected. The problem was that the ants had nested in the pipes and were responsible for driving between them simulating a ground leak. Many times the socket boxes are filled with grit causing this problem and disconnecting the differential.

Ariel1981, good afternoon. As the colleague servimat1 told you, the over consumption in that line is decisive in terms of the cut that he makes sporadically, the protection. You should definitely split the circuits that feed the kitchen. C1 Fridge and Sockets with 2.5mm cables (which you already have) and a thermal 16a. C2 Microwave and Washing Machine with 2.5mm cables, you could use your 20a thermal. Finally, as colleague nelson33 tells you, a voltage detector is very important since you have variations in the line. Greetings. Comment
