Cable change outer passage box

Good morning Forum ... I cut the light of a sector of my house. I skip the Thermomagnetics. When I check several sectors, I found the short film in a passage box in the yard of my house. What happens is that this box, (as the house is old) is placed on a wall without protection from getting wet. With the rain of yesterday and the passage of time (and cloth cables), yesterday they got wet and stuck. Today I will change the cable with standard cables. My question is: What do you recommend me to do in that sector since the passage box is free that it again enters water? Any feasible and possible way to make it waterproof? Thank you I attach a photo

Hello The options are several and according to the pocket. It is best to pass the outer box to the interior of the house, if that is very complicated, you should put a quality waterproof box, or a non-sealed properly sealed box. The best is one of 10 x 10 x 7 cm aluminum, or in those dimensions, but of pvc, conveniently painted with latex once you no longer touch it, or if you want to avoid the sun problem in pvc, one of sheet metal thick with superimposed lid very well sealed with silicone. The aluminum is expensive, the PVC is attacked by the sun, the sheet is oxidized and needs to be sealed. Those are the options.

Is there any way to seal the one that is. Within a couple of meters I have another step box. With some lid, silicone etc. Let's say the cables pass through there, but cover it outside. Thank you

You can seal it by applying neutral silicone that does not oxidize the sheet metal cover and then apply two or three-handed paint and you solve the problem.

Remove the part of the box that is rotten and cover with a properly protected 12 x 12 sheet (with anti-rust or hot paint), you can use a lid of the Genrod type boxes that have the treatment described. And seal on the top and side as the friend MJGTSAS says, then paint if you want.

I reward that I am from Venezuela and here we do not adhere much to the rules; I don't know where you are from and if you have laws and regulations that you should respect. What I suggest to you, I don't know if it can be done there. Here it goes:. Since you removed the old cables, before passing the new ones, I would completely remove the pass box, especially if the 2nd tube is still straight. When removing the pass box, I would uncover about 2 cm from each tip, very clean and if it is metal would cut another longer piece of the tube of the same diameter. to 2 cm of each side and of the same side in the 2 tips it would remove a half of the tube but leaving a little more than half, in order to fit it the other 2 (tips) and it is under pressure. Then I fix it with a pair of nails inside the hole and fill it with cement, taking care that it does not move and hard enough so that it does not penetrate the tube, (you could superimpose a piece of paper or plastic to seal everything). Note: Before sealing with cement, I would pass a wire from end to end just in case and it also helps to pass the cables, if you have a guava, better, if the tube is made of plastic, you can use the same procedure with the cube, or also put a section of corrugated pipe between the old tube. always pass guaya or wire before sealing with cement, in case it stops, it would be enough to remove the tube, pass the guaya and re-fit it, then put the cement I hope you serve the suggestion and use it as long as the law does not break

Hello I agree with Nastor, a waterproof pvc box is fine, they last for many years, I would say 120x120x70 of good brand is the best option if you do not want to do that simply place a blind sheet metal or pvc cover If you use the sheet metal remember that the lid should be terrified through the box or itself If it is made of PVC, it would not last long, although if there is no pressure exerted by the cables or blows it may be enough to last 5 or 6 years without problems, then you can change the lid and that's it. You can use pressure caps to avoid holes and seal them with a good product, especially on the top and sides should be perfectly sealed, below if it is not sealed better to avoid possible flooding of the box It is also good as long as the box allows it to mark the contour of the lid on the wall and lower the plaster a couple of millimeters in order to make the lid 1 mm further inside the finished plaster, make sure that the lid can be remove

I DON'T KNOW IF YOU COME TO SOLVE IT, I RECOMMEND YOU EXTENDING WITH A CORRUGATED, THEN FILLING WITH EXPANDED POLYURETHANE AND AFTER THIS PLACE A BOX WITH A GOOD PROTECTION IP, SO I DO THAT JOB THAT SOUNDS APPEARING VERY FOLLOWED. REGARDS.-

The house is old, we would not know if it has corrugated but even if it has, the corrugated connects in the box, to extend the corrugated, you would have to remove the box and release the pipe .... or how would you do it?

you simply present it below that this and affirm it with sealant or some type of expanded polyurethane
