20190612_070114.jpg [1.63MB] 20190612_044242.jpg [1.55mb] Thank you in advance for your response I'm about to paint the garage roof and for a long time I see this crack or fissure in the junction between plasterboard. I have noticed that it is not deep and my question is what material I can use to fill it in the simplest and most neat way possible, and even better if I can avoid the use of tape since I doubt that if I use it I go unnoticed (no I never did it) Thank you

Hi The tape is to prevent the putty you put back to open in the union, I recommend you tape and putty with any putty for plasterboard. If you do it right you don't have to notice if you do it without tape you run the risk that over time, it will reopen since the structure receives vibrations from the outside and the plates work Cheers

To do it correctly you would have to sand along the fissure at least 1 mm deep and at least the width of the tape and filled with putty + tape + putty use a wide spatula if you apply it well you don't even need to sand The edges of the repair.

I estimate that this should look good, but honestly, I never saw them sand 1 or 2 mm deep by the width of the tape along the entire length. Imagine if they have to make a building that detail would take a lot of time. If you tape the tape superficially without folds and putty on top with a spatula or trowel you will not notice the tape

They choose without discussion but a garage is not a building and if in a building after having done the ceilings they have to fix them all I imagine that nobody would do it as you indicate.
Now I tell you why, because of my sayings, in my house a plate was bad and it was framed, you know that the edge of the plates are thinner so that it is filled with tape and putty so when it is filled the plate is flush and the union would not be noticeable, if you put more putty and tape on the plate it shows (because that happened in my case) and what they did was sand until all the tape was removed

Hello, I imagine that you mean the separation between the razo and the plate that are not exact, for this it widens the joint only a little so that between the expansive foam thread, it is allowed to dry and cut the excesses with cutter, preferably leaving a slight chamfer so you can put light paste there, let dry and sand with sponge-sandpaper, fine and smooth ready to paint.

First, if the roof is made of sheet metal, it will continue to be marked. Since I miss wrong. Candles screwed to the roof structure is wrong. Surely it will crack again, or it may not have tape on that plate junction. Comment

From what I see it occurs to me that they might not have put the tape but also those spots seem to be drops of water, if that is the right thing to do, take out a plate and see if it has protection for moisture, if it does not have it should place adequate insulation since after a while the sheet begins to condense moisture and that drips which not only stains also deteriorates the material
