Heater with risk of explosion?

Hi everyone! A few days ago a neighbor came to tell me that I had moisture on the wall, that in my house I had a broken pipe. I noticed and so it was, the problem was the hot water pipe. I tell my family that we only have to open the water heater to bathe and then turn it off, I think this ignorance of mine almost ends very badly. My mother is going to bathe one day and when she leaves she tells me that the water heater is still on, but all the faucets were off. Then I will see what happens and as I did not know, I close the hot water, turn off the water heater and close the gas. But the noise of the water heater was still heard and I did not know what it was, and when I approached the water heater, the flexible hot water explosion exploded, I was lucky that the water heater was only at 2 and did not come out very hot. But what I do not understand is why the flexible exploded in that way and also ask them if with my ignorance I could cause an explosion of gas? In the week I will call a gas station to fix everything obviously. Thanks so much for reading!!

You have the diaphragm glued. Make him see by a technician ,,, you will melt the shirt if it heats up without water passing ...

Hi. This is due to the fact that the needle that opens the passage of the gas (be that of the gas itself or that of the diaphragm holder) remains stuck, enabling the gas to the burners. Do not use it as there may be a fire or melting the pipe. Water literally turns into steam and is very dangerous. You have to have the heater repaired before it becomes unusable and you must replace it as well as part of the pipe. regards
