Electricity for dollhouses

Hello friends. I made an installation in a dollhouse with 5 flashlights that are 3 elements that are supposed to be 4.5v and 0.5A. I used a transformfor of a router that is of 5V and 2.5A is that when trying them a couple of times went perfect but when it was used my daughters burned the lights and in less than 2 days I only stayed 1 and unplugged so that not be burned. Can someone tell me the cause? Thank you
Ennio Montenegro.

There are transformers that the voltage is not stabilized and the indicated voltage of its output, is to the maximum that it delivers. So I could deliver about 7V. So you could be subjected to 50% on what you need. For that they can burn and not only for the 0.5V of more.

Thank you for responding, and what would you have to do to prevent this from happening? A smaller transformer (4v for example, I do not know if they come or are) by long if more voltage or has to be if or if a source that drops the 5v as those of pc, they have 5v and 12v

I suggest you use leds, they last much longer and consume nothing. A thousand apologies for not commenting anymore, since I did not know if you liked the idea. You can use a 9 volt battery or use your current transformer plus rectifier diodes, an electrolyte capacitor and you could put a 5 volt regulator. The limiting resistors will depend on the type of led you buy. Clarify something that I just noticed, is that trafo you use is a continuous source formed, ie gives you 5 volts continuous and regulated? if this is obvious all of the above and you would have to buy only the LEDs and limiting resistors, as with a 9 volt battery. I await your comments.

Specify me well with what source or transformer and how much led?

Buy strip of leds, those already have their own transformer, you have to buy it apart, but where you sell the Led Strip you have the transformer. They are comfortable, last longer, do not take up space and illuminate better. You can find them in hardware stores, lighting tents, appliances (not all) and electronic tents.

Hello Friend, thanks for replying, the one I put is a transformer for a router, it is not a regulating source and it is 5v and now I realized that the flashlight bulbs were not 4.5v but 3.6v. it is half a lot 1.4v others. That of using diodes and capacitor is already much. I'm going to see if I get some 3.5vo something like that and I try. Thank you very much. Sldos

I think it works for you. Cheer up and discard the use of incandescent ones that are expensive, scarce and soon you will not find them. It uses leds, white, of colors as you want and they last a lot.

Buy the leds of the color and size that you like and if you do not give the specifications of voltage and current of each we look for you to install the corresponding limiting resistors. The house will look lovely on you.
