Good morning to the entire community of I repair relied on the extensive knowledge of the members to solve my problem. I have an AT89C55WD microcontroller which I want to copy the data to another microcontroller of the same code, the tools I am using are, TL866CS minipro software v6.60 recorder. The procedure I was doing is the following, look for the code in the list of devices and select, then to verify the communication I clicked on the menu bar, tool, test, with which I have no problem, followed by this step, I read it to extract the information of the device and save it to copy in the other component, the curious thing about this process is that when reading and that by the way it does not send any error message, in the window where the configuration of ic, there is no change in the FF always remains from the beginning to the end. so I conclude that something I am not doing well since according to me I am not extracting the information from the microcontroller. From what I ask the members of this forum help me understand the correct operation. I should mention that I did not have the opportunity to beat a microcontroller, but I have enough experience in eprom recorder for televisions, printers and laptops. I must also add that previously I was trying to extract the data of this component with the genius g54 which after making some attempts the machine itself is not turned on. from already very grateful with the comments of members who take the time to read and help my inconvenience.

Assuming that both the software and the hardware and connections are all right, it may be happening that you are reading one in a virgin or protected state (it is rare because they generally read "00" and not "FF"). I have no experience in Atmel. EPROMs can be read because they are not protected, but microcontrollers are not. This is done to safeguard the design and programming work of devices where they are placed.
