This circuit does what it asks for. don't forget to provide the fuse with 4 amps at the 12 volt voltage input. Mount the transistor on a dissipating fin.

Friend if you want you can also use a converter module type buck (https://www.vistronica.com/fuente-de-voltaje/conversores-dc-dc/convertidor-dc-dc-buck-lm2596-detail.html) where you can feed it to the voltage it has and adjust its output voltage to what is needed
