I'll explain.
It is very simple on the basis that every audio signal reaches the preamp stage, or the amplifier stage.
The audio signal can be "injected" into the volume control, if it has a good signal level it will sound good.
Try to inject the external audio directly where indicated in the diagram.
If it is a volume control with switch I see no problem. The connection to the switch is with two adjacent legs. Apart from 3 of the volume control itself. Use the tip of a screwdriver to test the ampli and you will know which is the earth and which the signal input.

I already saw it. The red wires are those that correspond to the switch. The 3 terminals together are soldered to the printed plate. Interpret the diagram, use a screwdriver tip to locate the terminal that is grounded or the one that corresponds to the audio (the one that corresponds to audio will hum a little). Don't touch the red wires, I don't know how much voltage that radio handles, but just in case.
