Hello everyone I'm doing a galena radio project in AM and I want to connect a signal meter to the device and I think of using a microammeter The question is. I do not have microamperimeter, only an old vuumetro with internal resistance 7 ohms Can this analog tube be made a microamimeter to measure signal? another question: what would the connection of the microamimeter to detect current in this galena radio that does not use batteries? Thank you I'll post the outline as soon as I can.

Hello! The thing is very simple: you only have to take advantage of the voltage that appears after the detector diode (or galena stone if you have got one) As the needle is likely to go to the bottom with powerful stations, you must put a R in series to the vumetro. How much is that R? Impossible to know because I ignore the level of signal that you have at the output of the diode, but you can try different values or a preset and adjust it until you have the maximum deflection on the transmitter that enters more powerful. The others, will mark less and you will have your S-Meter. A hug!

Thank you Herrpiluso for your help!
the vuumetro has an internal resistance of 0.6KOhm and between the terminals where the high impedance headphones are connected measures 8mV
What resistance can I place in the vuumetro to signal the signal? Thank you
