Observations:
Effectively. There are a total of 2 resistors. One in each mold for the faces of the arepas.
If you have a tester and measure continuity between the visible ends of the two resistors when disconnecting the thermostat terminals (not before taking photos to avoid not knowing how to reconnect them later) it is feasible to determine if there is any damaged resistance.
Usually the thermostat is most likely to have problems getting damaged.
There are cases where if any cable was gotten disconnected or broken, it can also lead to something similar to leaving the power circuit open.
