Hello at home, I have a mailbox with a bell on the outdoor entrance gate. The bell never connected. And finding out by youtube I read that the button must be connected to the phase and the circuit closes with the neutral in the hood. It is not dangerous to put the phase in the push-button in the open on a metallic push-button and little insulation? I saw bells of this style that arrive 2 very thin wires but I could not see how the circuit was. Please help me that I don't want an evangelist to die from ringing the bell at home. Cheers

Hi The bell must have a 12v transformer What can be connected to the button can never be 220v or phase or neutral. What you must connect is one of the wires of the buzzer or bell.

Hi Ricardo, hello sweety. I meddle to clarify to Chinito that Ricardo's drawing is all inside the bell box.
This connects directly to 220 volts permanently and two cables (would be low voltage) are taken to the front where you have the metal switch. EYE WITH CARRYING 220 VOLTS TO THE SWITCH OF THE CARTON BOX, IT IS NOT ISOLATED TO THE METAL.



Completely agree and repeat something that has already been said, NEVER take 220 to the push button in front of postman because one of the contacts is just the chassis, absolutely dangerous, even in the case of neutral


