AB class amplifier.
Class AB amplifiers receive a small constant polarization at their input, independent of the existence of a signal. It is the most common class in audio, having high performance and quality. These amplifiers receive their name because with large signals they behave like a class B, but with small signals they do not present the zero crossing distortion of class B. They have two output transistors, such as those of class B, but unlike these , have a large polarization current flowing between the base terminals and the power supply, which however is not as high as those of class A. This free current is limited to the maximum value necessary to correct the lack of linearity associated with the crossing distortion, with just the right level to place the transistors on the edge of the conduction. This resource forces to locate the point Q in the limit between the zone of cut and conduction.
