Hi, I need to ask you the following question. I have to install a hot water tank at home. It is convenient for me to install the hot water tank on a terrace that I have. When the gasman came to budget me, I told him that I preferred to put it on the terrace under two eaves. He told me that there was no problem and that it could be installed in that place. I asked him if there was no need to make a cabinet or something and he said no. But I doubt about this. Explain: It would be installed under two eaves that leave the wall about 60 cm (one eave is taller than the other obviously, and they are two roofs that have a different direction, I hope you understand). This means that the possibility that the rain can hit him will be greatly reduced, but nevertheless it is not protected, that is, in a heavy rain, or in a rain that comes from the side where the eaves do not protect it would get wet. I understand that if the foam rubber gets wet it will not insulate well, I read that here. My idea in that case would be to make some kind of enclosure in the near future as appropriate so that it no longer gets wet but I wanted to know the following: If for now I install it in that place, can I get to lose the guarantee in case I have any problem with the hot water tank in the time in which it does not make the complete enclosure? That is, if I get to have a problem and I have to call the technical service, when they come and see that it is not inside a cabinet, can you tell me that I lose the warranty? Thank you.

Hi a hot water tank is not made for open spaces, there is no problem that you put it where you decide but it must be closed and roofed in such a way that it does not get wet in any way or from any direction, and it is protected from wind and low temperatures . Personally, I think if you leave it as you described it, if you can void the warranty, that depends a bit on the technical service criteria Cheers

Hi. You can place it just where you mention. It will not be protected so in a couple of years it will start to itch. You can make a small "box" of pipe and sheet (fireproof materials) where you must take into account a good air intake for proper combustion. regards
