Hello good afternoon, I want to ask you a question, because this relief valve has to be placed in the cold water inlet. in the case that cold water would be entering from the upper side, this valve would act in the same way if placed in the bottom of cold water. Thank you

Hi ; You can place it the same it fulfills its function, but if you have a water tank the valve will not act because the circuit is open as I said before greetings

Hi. The valve is placed in the cold water inlet because if the thermostat fails and stays on it would be a pump. It would literally not explode but can do so or become irretrievably damaged. This is because the internal pressure will increase without control by the constant flame. When that excess temperature and pressure reach this valve, it will act and release the pressure. If you put it in the hot water outlet, it may start to lose if the thermos is set at high temperature. Cheers

the thermos has upper and lower inlet ..... it is connected without a valve at the top, I ask not to disassemble what is connected, this valve can be placed in the lower cold water inlet, it would be protecting the thermos or it has to go if or if where the water enters .... I hope it has been clear ... thank you very much,

If the water inlet to the thermos is opened, you have a water tank, you do not need the valve because the expansion is released, it goes back to the tank, the valve will never act, even if you want to place it, you can install it in the lower inlet.

Good day Luis, to complete my knowledge, if I remove the plug of the lower cold inlet and put the valve it would not be fulfilling its function correctly ...

If it fulfills its function, the pressure in a container is exerted uniformly in all directions on it, as the Pascal principle says .... place it where you place it, if the pressure exceeds the valve limit , it will open and relieve pressure
