Water Heaters (Calefones)

Electric hot water tank brand choice. (Is Ariston good?)

Hi good day! I'm finding out to buy an electric water tank between 50/80 liters. (It is for a house with two people), which lasts for a few years. That is not sealed and resistance can be changed and spare parts are achieved. Here goes the problem, one says hot water tank and the "Rheem" brand comes to mind, but looking at its Facebook page, it has too many criticisms of factory failures and after-sales service. The same goes for brands like "Longvie" ... "Sherman" and "Saiar" don't even have a page, and "Señorial" seems like they delete the comments. Following the investigation I find the brand "Ariston", which for a lower price to a "Rheem" offers more services in its PRO ECO version, as protection against use in vacuum, and a way of learning when one uses water to heat it beforehand and not be systematically turning on every time with the expense it would entail. I kept reading more things, and it seems to be a trusted brand: it exists since 1940, it has a presence in a few countries, from the page you can download the PDF with the prices of the spare parts, etc ... My question is: the Ariston comes out $ 6500 ... And yet I don't trust any brand. Should I buy it anyway for those benefits you mention? Or should I buy a $ 3000 trucheli that the day it breaks, if it can't be fixed, do you discard it with less pain? Thank you very much for reading everything, and for your help. Regards!

Great, thank you both! Where I live the water is extracted from a well by a Cooperative and they inject chlorine, I do not think they give it any more treatment. The levels of the analysis give anything (eg, high arsenic). Therefore buying an expensive one would be in vain since the water quality is not good and whatever I can not expect it to last long. So I'm sure to lean over the manor, which is not the cheapest but gives me more confidence in the electrical insulation part than buying a brand pirulo haha. Regards!

Hello Ariston is a good brand but if you pay twice as much as another, it does not mean that it lasts twice as long or that the resistance will not burn or the thermostat will be damaged. That can happen to anyone at any time. Spare parts of electric water heaters are usually universal. I would distrust more than one big brand that has specific spare parts than a brand that is not very recognized The duration of the thermos tends to depend largely on the maintenance given and a good installation Regards

Yes, I was thinking that a 65 Lts Sapphire Master would suit me. It has a price of $ 4500 ... One sometimes stays with those extra functions that put you, but capable of a good economic and simple, better fulfills its function. You who are in the field, would you recommend that brand?

Hello, in everything according to what the friend elektomaq says (greetings !!) for example in my city, no matter how long the thermos is, it does not last more than 10 years making it the periodic maintenance that it needs, the difference in quality is usually the insulation thermal, and energy savings may depend a little on this, since if you keep the heat for a longer time then you will connect the resistance less times in the day, but this way and everything does not justify the price difference, it seems to me
Cheers !!

Señorial is an intermediate brand. It is neither the trout nor the best
Personally I had a stately gas 30 liters and it lasted about 5 or 6 years until the pot spiked. I clarify that if I had given the proper maintenance of insurance it lasted a couple of years but one usually forgets
Then I bought an 85-liter electric emege and it lasted about 7 or 8 years (it was one of the cheapest) and I didn't give it the proper maintenance and what had to happen happened.

After that I chose to make a thermos myself and I did so with the same resistance and thermostat of the emege, a 200-liter plastic drum and a few meters of glass wool and some other things ... it works quite well and it already does 4 years of that

The latter is sure to last more than 10 years hahaha! here in Mardel with the water full of calcium, silicon and sodium to the best succumb, except one that I made 15 years ago taking advantage of a stainless steel drum to which I introduced a serpentine of the same material that works with the heating system, is A small hotel and the bank is fine, but .... stainless steel is expensive !!
