But he could see that the inner plastic pipe was not. What can you do about it??

Hi. It replaces without problems. You can buy one or place a polypropylene spout suitable for hot water with a rubber ring or make a small "head" so that it does not fall and place it in the cold water inlet. That is almost certainly the problem. Regards
