Good morning, the query is about an electric hot water tank, it did not heat the water, therefore I took out the thermostat and I found that it had an overheating, which I passed an sandpaper to where the connectors are stuck inside it and I tried it again, which is why it is barely warm in water now. Now turn on a few minutes, and turn off and on again.
The thermostat knob turns on after half and almost to the maximum. Less does not turn on the light that shows that it is heating the water.
I tried the continuity of the resistance and apparently it is not cut, if it was cut, I would not have to even warm the water, isn't it?
What could cause this breakdown? Suppose I change the thermostat, I don't want to break again.
