Hello, I have a Sherman water heater of 80ls gn. Some time ago the hot water began to last much less until only barely it was warm. I changed the plastic cold water pipe that was quite eaten but still cold. The strange thing is that I close the cold water stopcock and the thermos heats and cuts. I open the tap and water comes out as if for a bath and then it cools suddenly ... Can it be the hot water pipe or the thermostat?

We took out the thermos and changed the internal cold water pipe but it did not change the problem, then we disconnected it again and the hot water inlet into the hot water tank has no pipe. And from what I understand it has a plastic spout in hot water but 15cm.

If you refer to the fishing pipe, take only one and its location depends on the water connections (hot and cold) of the hot water tank.
Top connection, in the cold water inlet, sends the cold water to the bottom of the water tank. Bottom connection, at the hot water inlet, draws hot water from the top of the water heater. The function of this pipe is to prevent cold water from mixing with hot water and that it lasts longer. Arming

Hello, does the thermos have the connections above or below?
What model is it? (See if it has a label)

Hi. From what you mention it is like there was a loss in the hot water line or pipe. This would make water constantly entering the thermos. Have you noticed large spots of moisture or sinking at some point? regards

No, not really, if the hot water in the kitchen is finished faster, it is the place closest to the thermos. Now disconnect it and it has no hot water pipe, can that be?

Hello, the longest internal plastic pipe goes in the cold water inlet when the connections are at the top, and in the hot one it does not carry any short pipe. When the connections are on the bottom the longest internal plastic pipe goes to the [b] hot water [b] outlet, and only in this case is a shorter pipe called a diffuser in the cold water inlet, which should be purchased according to model (not just any pipe).

Hello: it can be a loss in the hot water pipe to know it, set the thermos to the maximum and it will be the water stopcock if the thermos cuts open the stopcock again and controls how long it takes to turn on again always having the faucets Closed if it turns on a few minutes sure is the pipe with a significant loss greetings

Hello, thank you very much for the information, if I did it and the thermos starts without opening any tap, just detect a small loss in the sink. How do I detect where water loss can come from? I don't see anything significant on the walls ... How to make hot water get lost so quickly ... can it somehow return to the tank since it is a house with old connections? Thank you for your answers.
